Vehicle Description 2009 Factory Five MK3 Cobra Replica The Cobras dominated Corvettes in North America, winning races coast to coast. On July 4, 1965, the Cobra, (in roadster and coupe form), won the World Manufacturers' GT Championship, as the team soundly defeated Ferrari. Shelby American is the only American vehicle manufacturer to win the prestigious championship, before or since.. Thx Shelby.com. Fast forward 30 years and Factory Five was founded and what started as a small, start up business has become the world's largest manufacturer of component car kits.  For consignment, a 2009 Factory Five MK3 replica with a title verified 9,532 actual miles. This is a one owner car with a fuel injected 4.6 liter SOHC V8 under the hood. Exterior Two stage Mineral Gray Metallic covers the muscular lines of the Cobra augmented by matte black stripes white stripes that run from the bottom of the grille and all the way to the rear edge, below the trunk. In lieu of bumpers, we have jack receivers at both ends for an authentic racer look while a robust chrome roll bar rises behind the driver. In contrast and complementing the overall palette are side pipes that are satin black. Argent gray 17-inch Bullitt style wheels carry ZR rated tires size tires including wide 315/35R17's in back where the rear axle was shortened to accommodate. The paint is fantastic on the car with imperfections noted as some bubbles, flex cracks, edge chips, rock spray and other chips, and scratches. Interior Uncovered doors shine with the same glossiness of the exterior, held at distance with a stitched saddle leather hinge strap. In front you'll find black vinyl bomber seats with Simpson racing harnesses that will keep you, and the nice seats in place around high G-force turns. You'll be holding the leather wrapped sport steering wheel, staring the center Cobra logo in the eye, all while keeping an eye on the myriad of clean, white faced AutoMeter gauges placed neatly into the black padded dash. The forward canted shifter rises cleanly from the center box, begging to shake hands. Low pile black carpet covers the floor and the trunk contains shiny aluminum panels and a battery box. Drivetrain Looking right at home and modern is the 4.6 liter SOHC V8, fuel injected and rated at 265 horsepower. It's mated to a Tremec T45 5-speed manual transmission that routes power to the Ford 8.8 rear axle. Naturally, headers begin the exhaust process. Undercarriage A tubular frame and overall clean conditions are found where the dual exhaust consists of the aforementioned headers and side pipes. Four wheel disc brakes are on hand and the suspension includes coil overs at both ends with 4 link in back.  Drive-Ability What's not to love here? An engine that starts right up, a pleasant exhaust note, and unmitigated cool factor that a Cobra creates. It's all here. Plenty of power for the light car, good braking, superb handling, and more fun than should be legal. All functions on this low mileage build operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Cobra replicas like this one are always the star of the show. If attention, questions from gas station patrons and red light looky loos bother you, you probably stopped reading a long time ago. For those who remain, you've obviously been bitten. There's only one antidote for your affliction, and that's to buy this car. Strike quickly as there may be other snake wranglers in the ring. Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!).
